This regulation may be cited as the River Improvement Trust Regulation 2013.
This regulation commences on 23 August 2013.
3Continuation of river improvement areas and trusts
(1)Each river improvement area mentioned in schedule 1, column 1 (a continued river improvement area) is continued in existence.(2)The trust constituted for each continued river improvement area is mentioned opposite the area in schedule 1, column 2 and continued in existence.(3)The local government area or part of a local government area comprising each continued river improvement area is mentioned opposite the area in schedule 1, column 3.(4)However, the Burdekin Shire Rivers Improvement Area, Burdekin Shire Rivers Improvement Trust and local government area of the Burdekin Shire Council are mentioned in schedule 1, columns 1, 2 and 3, for information purposes only.1The Burdekin Shire Rivers Improvement Area is continued in existence under section 3(1) of the Act.2The Burdekin Shire Rivers Improvement Trust is continued in existence under section 4(1) of the Act.
4Numbering of improvement notices
A trust must give each improvement notice it issues a unique identifying number.
5Register of improvement notices
(1)A trust must keep a register of all improvement notices it issues.(2)The register must include for each improvement notice—(a)a copy of the notice; and(b)any or all of the following that are not stated in the copy of the notice—(i)the name and address of the person to whom the notice is issued;(ii)the date the notice is issued;(iii)a description of the land to which the notice relates.(3)The trust must make the register available for inspection free of charge, during normal business hours, at its office.
For section 13(6) of the Act, the prescribed date is 31 August in each year.
A trust may pay its secretary the reasonable allowance decided by the trust having regard to the official duties under section 6(2) of the Act performed by the secretary.

8Abolition of Pioneer River Improvement Area and Trust
(1)Each of the following is abolished—(a)the Pioneer River Improvement Area;(b)the Pioneer River Improvement Trust.(2)The assets and liabilities that, immediately before the commencement, were the assets and liabilities of the Pioneer River Improvement Trust are vested in the Mackay Regional Council.(3)Any existing improvement notice ceases to operate on the commencement.(4)In this section—commencement means the commencement of this section.existing improvement notice means a notice given by the Pioneer River Improvement Trust under section 11 of the Act that, before the commencement, had not ceased to subsist or to operate.Pioneer River Improvement Area means the river improvement area that, immediately before the commencement, was constituted and assigned the name Pioneer River Improvement Area.Pioneer River Improvement Trust means the trust of that name in existence immediately before 1 July 2014.pt 4 (s 8) sub 2014 SL No. 135s 4

A plan, mentioned in column 3 of the schedule, of part of a local government area comprising a river improvement area mentioned opposite in column 1 of the schedule may be inspected free of charge, during normal business hours, at the department’s head office in Brisbane or at the office of the trust for the river improvement area.
