This notice may be cited as the Electrical Safety (Codes of Practice) Notice 2024.
This notice commences on 15 August 2024.

(1)Notice of the making of a code of practice named in schedule 1 was given, for section 44(2) of the Act, before 15 August 2024 under the repealed Electrical Safety (Codes of Practice) Notice 2013.(2)The commencement date stated in schedule 1, column 3 for each code of practice mentioned in column 2 of the schedule is included for information purposes only.Under section 44(5) of the Act, a code of practice expires 10 years after its commencement.
3AAmendment of codes of practice—Act, s 44
(1)If the entry in schedule 1 for a code of practice states that the code of practice has been amended by a ministerial instrument stated in the entry—(a)the code of practice was amended by the ministerial instrument stated in the entry; and(b)the inclusion of the amendment in schedule 1 is notice, for section 44(2) of the Act, that the ministerial instrument stated in the entry amending the code of practice has been made by the Minister.(2)The date stated in schedule 1, column 2 for the amendment of a code of practice is included for information purposes only.See section 44(4) of the Act for the commencement of an instrument amending a code of practice.s 3A ins 2024 SL No. 235 s 5
4Repeal of Electrical Safety (Codes of Practice) Notice 2013
The Electrical Safety (Codes of Practice) Notice 2013, SL No. 276 is repealed.

MI 2024 No. 1 means the ministerial instrument titled ‘Work Health and Safety and Electrical Safety Variation and Amendment of Code of Practice (No. 1) 2024’.
MI 2024 No. 2 means the ministerial instrument titled ‘Electrical Safety Amendment of Codes of Practice (No. 1) 2024’.
ministerial instrument means an instrument made by the Minister under section 44(2) of the Act to amend a code of practice.
