This Act may be cited as the Standard Time Act 1894.
This Act shall commence and take effect on and from the 1 January 1895.
(1)Standard time in Queensland is 10 hours in advance of Co-ordinated Universal Time.(2)In this section—Co-ordinated Universal Time means Co-ordinated Universal Time (UTC) as determined by the International Bureau of Weights and Measures and maintained under the National Measurement Act 1960 (Cwlth), section 8AA.s 3 sub 2005 No. 28s 94
4The time mentioned in Acts etc. to mean standard time
Whenever any expression of time occurs in any Act, order in council, rule, regulation, by-law, deed, or in any instrument whatsoever, and whenever the doing or not doing anything at a certain time of day or night, or during a certain part of the day or the night, has an effect in law, such time shall, unless it is otherwise specifically stated, be held to be standard time throughout Queensland as declared by this Act.
5Transitional provision for Freedom of Information and Other Legislation Amendment Act 2005
Section 3, as inserted by the Freedom of Information and Other Legislation Amendment Act 2005, (new section 3) applies to an instrument even though it was made before the commencement of new section 3.s 5 ins 2005 No. 28s 95
