This regulation may be cited as the Summary Offences (Prevention of Knife Crime) Amendment Regulation 2024.
This regulation commences on 1 September 2024.
This regulation amends the Summary Offences Regulation 2016.
After part 2—
insert—14ARequirements for prohibition sign—Act, s 19K
(1)For section 19K(4) of the Act, this section prescribes the requirements for a prohibition sign.(2)The sign must—(a)be at least 210mm x 148mm; and(b)display the following words in the following order in a way that can be easily read—
‘The sale of knives and other controlled items to minors is prohibited.
Penalties apply.
Acceptable evidence of age may be required.’(3)The words required to be displayed under subsection (2)(b) must be—(a)at least 8mm high; and(b)in black on a white background.
