Part 2 Amendment of Gold Coast Waterways Authority Regulation 2012
This part amends the Gold Coast Waterways Authority Regulation 2012.
Part 2—
insert—1ARounding of amounts expressed as numbers of fee units
(1)This section applies for working out the amount of an annual levy expressed in this part as a number of fee units.(2)For the purposes of the Acts Interpretation Act 1954, section 48C(3), the amount is to be rounded to the nearest multiple of 5 cents (rounding one-half upwards). If a fee were 35 fee units and the value of a fee unit were $1.015, the number of dollars obtained by multiplying 35 by $1.015 would be $35.525. Because $35.525 is halfway between $35.50 and $35.55, it is rounded upwards, so the amount of the fee would be $35.55.

insert—220ARounding of amounts expressed as numbers of fee units
(1)This section applies for working out the amount of a fee expressed in this regulation as a number of fee units.(2)For the purpose of the Acts Interpretation Act 1954, section 48C(3), the amount is to be rounded to the nearest multiple of 5 cents (rounding one-half upwards).
After section 231—
insert—231A Working out amounts of concessional registration fees
(1)This section applies for working out the amount of a concessional registration fee expressed in this regulation as a percentage of another fee (a standard fee).(2)The amount of the concessional registration fee is obtained by—(a)multiplying the standard fee by the percentage; and(b)rounding the result to the nearest multiple of 5 cents (rounding one-half upwards).A concessional registration fee is 25% of the standard fee which is expressed as 845.55 fee units. If the value of a fee unit were $1.015, the amount of the standard fee would be $858.25, obtained by multiplying 845.55 by $1.015 and rounding the result under section 220A. The amount of the concessional registration fee would be $214.55, obtained by multiplying the standard fee of $858.25 by 25% and rounding the result under subsection (2)(b).

Section 97, after ‘issue’—
insert—of
After section 110—
insert—110A Rounding of amounts expressed as numbers of fee units
(1)This section applies for working out the amount of a fee expressed in this regulation as a number of fee units.(2)For the purpose of the Acts Interpretation Act 1954, section 48C(3), the amount is to be rounded to the nearest multiple of 5 cents (rounding one-half upwards).
